Seattle Seahawks

Among the relevant trends here, the Seahawks are 26-24-3 against the spread (ATS) over the last three-plus seasons. That’s minus-$40 from a straight $110 bet. In that period, Seattle posted solid ATS marks when playing in the Eastern Time Zone (8-5-1, $250), facing an AFC opponent (8-5-1, $250) and serving as the betting favorite (10-5-1, $450).

The numbers for 2021 are less fulfilling, with the Seahawks owning a 2-3 ATS record (minus-$130), 1-1 as an ATS underdog (minus-$10) and 1-1 versus AFC opponents (minus-$10). In other notable trends, the Seahawks are 10-1 ATS in their last 11 games of being underdogs by 5.5 or more points ($890). Conversely, Seattle has an 0-8 record with the Over, when charting the club’s last eight games of failing to cover the point spread the week prior (minus-$880).

After five weeks of play, the Seahawks offense ranks 13th overall in scoring offense (24.0 points per game), 16th in passing offense (247.0 yards per week), 18th in total offense (351.0 yards per game) and 19th in rushing offense, averaging 104.0 yards per week.

Pittsburgh Steelers

Among the relevant trends, the Steelers have yielded strong ATS results over the last three-plus seasons. For that period, the club has a 27-23-3 overall ATS record ($170), 14-12-1 mark at home ($80) and 9-4 record versus NFC opponents ($460). Curiously, Pittsburgh has a 12-19-2 ATS record as the betting favorite since 2018 (minus-$890).

For this season, the Steelers are 2-3 ATS overall (minus-$130) and 1-2 versus NFC foes (minus-$120). The Steelers boast a 9-2 ATS record when chronicling the team’s last 11 games of scoring 25 or more points the previous week ($680). On the flip side, Pittsburgh has a 1-7 mark with the Over from its last eight games against the NFC West, when the Steelers are averaging fewer than 120 rushing yards (minus-$670).

Five weeks into the 2021 campaign, the Steelers’ sluggish offense ranks 18th overall in passing offense (246.0 yards per game), 27th in total offense (319.6 yards per week), 27th in scoring offense (18.8 points per game) and 31st in rushing offense (73.6 ground yards per week).

Total Trends

The Seahawks have eclipsed the Over in just 16 of their last 37 games, including one push, dating back to 2019 (minus-$710). The Steelers have been tangibly worse during this same span of regular-season games, going 13-23-1 with the Over (minus-$1230).

All combined, that’s a 29-43-2 track record with the Over (minus-$1830 or, if betting the Under, plus-$1110). This year, Seattle and Pittsburgh are both 1-4 with the Over, or a combined 2-8 (minus-$680).
