Kayvon Thibodeaux Under 8.5 sacks

Brad’s Take: This number is so bad. I had to pay some juice here but that’s fine. Even with the extra game, nine sacks is a big-boy number. And that’s even for a veteran. Last year, 28 guys had at least nine sacks. That’s less than one per team. The last five years, four rookies have had at least nine sacks. Nick Bosa, who is great, had just nine. (And that’s four rookies out of 41 first-round linebackers and defensive ends drafted in the first round.) So it’s a real long shot that Thibodeaux beats you with nine QB takedowns. Now let’s look at the player – he was the third edge guy drafted. He had 12 sacks in 10 games in college last year (including 4.5 in one game). That’s good but now he’s going against the best offensive linemen in the world. The bonus as always with these Unders is that an injury of any significance basically wins the bet and while we never root for a player to get hurt, it’s just a reality in football that this risk is very real.
