WEEK 4 MONDAY

Las Vegas Raiders @ Los Angeles Chargers (Line: -3, O/U 51)

Las Vegas Raiders

Among the relevant trends here, the Raiders are 24-27 against the spread (ATS) over the last three-plus seasons. That’s minus-$570 from a straight $110 bet. In that period, Oakland/Las Vegas posted subpar ATS marks when playing on the road (11-14 … minus-$440) and facing AFC competition (19-20 … minus-$320). However, when playing on Monday Night Football since 2018, the Raiders own solid ATS marks with overall record (4-1 … $290), facing AFC teams (3-0 … $300) and serving as the betting underdog (4-1 … $290). After three weeks of 2021 play, the prodigious Las Vegas offense ranks first overall in total offense (471.0 yards per game), first in passing offense (averaging 379.7 per week) and sixth in scoring (30.0 points per game). The only downside: The Raiders have the league’s 25th-ranked rushing offense, averaging 91.3 ground yards per game.

Los Angeles Chargers

Among the relevant trends, the Chargers have struggled mightily against the spread over the last three-plus seasons. The subpar marks include: Since 2018, the club has a 24-25-2 overall ATS record (minus-$350), 7-17-1 at home (minus-$1170), 16-19-2 versus AFC competition (minus-$490) and 12-18-1 as the betting favorite (minus-$780). However, charting October games only since 2018, Los Angeles owns a 6-3-1 ATS record ($270). Three weeks into the 2021 season, the Chargers offense ranks fourth overall in passing offense (averaging 307.3 yards per week), ninth in total offense (394.7 yards per game), 19th in scoring offense (averaging 22.3 points per week) and 26th in rushing offense (87.3 yards per game).

Total Trends

The Raiders have surpassed the Over in 22 of their last 35 games, including one push, dating back to the 2019 season ($880). Conversely, the Chargers possess a 16-18-1 record with the Over during the same span of regular-season games (minus-$380). All combined, that’s a 38-30-2 track record with the Over ($500, or if betting the Under, minus-$1,180). In other notable trends, the Raiders boast a perfect 9-0 record with the Over, when charting their last nine games of eclipsing the opponent by 20-plus yards per game ($900). On the negative side, Las Vegas has a 2-9 ATS mark when riding a winning streak of two or more games (minus-$790). The Chargers own a 9-1 ATS mark in their last 10 games when the club’s averaging fewer than 24 points per game ($790). On the flip side, from its last eight games of outscoring common opponents by 10 or fewer points, Los Angeles has an 0-7-1 record with the Over (minus-$770).
